THE AFTER EFFECTS of today’s potent Full Moon extend well into our new week, through the actualization of two significant aspects involving the Sun. One of these is Monday’s Sun-Pluto square, which potentially reveals more secrets that further upset the facade of balance, or that challenges our definition of fairness. The second is a Sun-Eris opposition on Thursday, which brings out combativeness in those who are in a tug-of-war contest with a perceived enemy.

Since the Sun is in Libra, key events will involve themes that The Scales rule over: partnerships, lawsuits, contracts, negotiations, diplomats, and the concepts of fairness and equality. Pluto in Capricorn draws in participants from the realms of business, government, and politics, as well as anyone in a position of authority. Eris in Aries activates the themes of individual rights, with courageous action driven by the desire for autonomy and self-determination.

On a personal development level, we’ll want to pay attention to where and how we tend to give our power away. It might be that we cave in to loved ones, to authority figures, to certain situations, or even to our own angers, fears, and anxieties. Whenever we get thrown off balance–emotionally or mentally–we’ve given our power away to something, and can benefit from coming back to our center, our true source of empowerment.

A SUBTLE but potentially noteworthy aspect occurs on Thursday this week. Jupiter and Pluto will be exactly 30 degrees away from each other, forming a semisextile aspect. Astrologer Robert Hand writes in his book Horoscope Symbols that with a semisextile, we may face “a forced choice between two conditions,” where the universe seems to ask us to let go of one option in favor of another. Mr. Hand further explains:

“The usual problem with these aspects is that their effects are so subtle, one cannot clearly see what is happening. The only resolution for these tensions is to become extremely conscious of the patterns of difficulty themselves and to do whatever is necessary to alter them. “

THIS MINOR ASPECT carries more weight than usual because it is the last time Jupiter and Pluto will interact before they align in 2020. They will be at the same degree of Capricorn three times in 2020–on April 4, June 30, and November 12. These dates should be highly instrumental in advancing the major shifts that are initiated in early 2020, when Saturn and Pluto align.

In essence, Jupiter and Pluto are checking in with each other this week, nodding to each other and saying, “Are you ready for the big show?” Thus, we will want to watch events closely now, for they most likely are a preamble to what will unfold more fully throughout 2020.

ALSO PIQUING my interest is that both Pluto and Jupiter are in aspect to the asteroid Pallas Athene this week. This draws my attention because each time Jupiter and Pluto conjoin in 2020, they will also align with Pallas. This means that the goddess of wisdom and justice is playing a pivotal role in current and future events.

Right now, Pallas is traveling through Scorpio, enabling us to perceive truth, to see beneath the surface and find what lies hidden beneath. Astrologer Demetra George writes her book Asteroid Goddesses that Pallas in Scorpio “pierces to the core of the difficulty and gets to the root of the problem … Pallas in Scorpio is the wisdom of insight–penetrating to the core and grasping the essence.”

Now is the time for revelations. They may be disruptive, but they are integral to the process of transmutation that is now underway.

INTERESTING , then, to read Ms. George’s description of Pallas in Capricorn, which is where the asteroid will be in 2020 when she aligns with Jupiter and Pluto:

“Pallas is very strong in Capricorn, representing the ability to formulate precise structures into which raw creative energy can coalesce. Instant manifestation is possible and can be seen as a magical process. Pallas in Capricorn is the wisdom of order–putting things in their proper sequence.”

ANCIENT SCULPTURES of Pallas Athene show her with an owl on her shoulder and a serpent around her feet. Like Owl, Pallas helps us to see form where there appears to be only darkness. The symbolism of Snake refers to an alchemical process, wherein poisonous venom–when correctly processed–is used in medicine to enable a profound process of healing and transformation.

In my mind’s eye, I see Pallas, Jupiter, and Pluto sitting at a conference table this week, planning events that will help humankind evolve into our greater potential. Saturn and Ceres are also in the room, but not yet seated, awaiting their call to full participation in December and January.

With the help of these guardians of our solar system, we can perceive positives where we might tend to see negatives. By calling on their assistance, we ultimately will be able to convert lead into gold. The process is already well underway.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: Depending on where your birth anniversary falls in the week, you are either at the end (birthday early in the week), middle (birthday mid week), or beginning (birthday late in the week) of a powerful time of personal transformation. Your self-concept is shifting at very deep levels, as you become aware of previously untapped aspects of your psyche. You are no doubt feeling quite passionate about some issue in your life, and may even be caught up in a power struggle. This is your opportunity to get in touch with a part of yourself that you may not have known before, that has gifts for you. It is also a time to realize the unconscious patterns that may have been controlling you from behind the scenes, patterns that you are now ready to transmute and release. As a result of this alchemical process, you will ultimately move into greater self-empowerment, which also enables you to claim your life mission more fully. (Solar Return Sun quincunx Vesta, sextile Jupiter, square Pluto, opposite Eris)

In Gratitude and Light,

Pam
